Flag Pole Stand Options

Ground Spike – Great for placing custom feather flags on grass or dirt locations. Simply twist or hammer the ground spike into the ground until it is steady. Look out for any sprinkler pipes or anything else before hammering!

Cross-Base – Perfect for flat, solid surface use. The cross-base on its own weighs 10 lbs, so additional weighted support will be needed to keep your feather banners stable. Weight donuts add 15lbs when filled with water. You can also use sandbags.

Heavy Duty Flat-Base – The flat base weighs approximately 16lbs on its own. It is a great flagpole mount to use when you are looking to hide the bases of your custom feather flags under a table, drawer, or from the site. The stand sits flat on the floor for low visibility.

Car Wheel Base – The wheelbase is great for new and used car dealers. Most of our auto dealerships purchase wheelbases to use with their car flags. Not only are they easy to install, but they can be moved from one vehicle to another with ease.

Looking to have some fun with the design of your feather banners? Learn how to design in Adobe Illustrator! Creating a design with your logo’s vector file is very easy. A vector file allows us to resize your logo to as large as we like without destroying the image quality on your custom feather flags. Using vector formats such as .ai, .eps, or .pdf is highly recommended to get the best print quality possible.

Download your flag template to create your custom design. Remember: Flag designs should be simple, to the point, and have your logo at the top or bottom of the flag. Customers usually only have a few seconds to read the message on your flag.

Our custom flags are offered in double-sided and single-sided prints. Double-sided flag banners allow for targeting traffic from both sides and are highly recommended.

SINGLE VS DOUBLE SIDED FEATHER FLAGS

The difference between single-sided and double-sided prints is shown in the image above. Double-sided custom feather flags are recommended due to both sides of the flag being readable.

Custom Feather Flag Specifications

Flag Material and Thickness: 110gm Polyester Fabric, also referred to as a 4oz poly knit mesh fabric.

Uses: Place feather banners outdoors or indoors to display your products, promotions, business logos, advertisements, sales, sporting events, concerts, festivals, trade shows, and more. Custom feather flags have both commercial and residential uses.

Weight: Flag weights will vary from 5.5lbs (8ft flag kit) to 12lbs per kit (17ft flag kit).

Printing Process: We use a commercial printing process that allows us to directly print onto the material, which allows for a great bleed-through. Darker colors will have much better visibility on the back of your flags than lighter colors.

Average Lifespan: With periodic use and proper care and storage, your custom flag should last 3+ years. If used every day outdoors, your lifespan will be approximately 1 year.

Fading: Leaving your flag outdoors for long periods of time will cause fading to occur quicker. Custom feather flags used for events a few times a month will last 5+ years easily, assuming proper care. If used outdoors 24/7, your flag will need to be replaced within 9 to 12 months. States such as California and Arizona, which experience high heat and dry weather, will cause your flags to fade quicker.

Color Guarantee: Due to colors varying from what you see on your computer screen (RGB colors) to actual custom flag prints (CMYK color mode), we cannot provide any color-matching guarantees. If you are particular about the colors of your feather banners, swatches can be ordered for a small fee of $9.50. Using Pantone colors is highly advised when designing your custom feather flags. Blues, reds, and purples tend to be very tricky colors and look very different from monitor to in-person. No refunds or reprints will be provided for any color variation.

Installation, Care, and Storage

Installation: A standard custom flag kit with no upgrades will usually come with a custom-printed flag, pole kit, and a ground spike. To install, simply hammer or twist the ground spike into the dirt. Telescope the poles from the largest to the smallest piece to create one large pole piece. The pole’s height will vary depending on your custom feather flag’s height. Slide the flag onto the pole starting from the thinnest pole piece, which will be the top flexible or pre-curved tip. If you purchased a tie-down clip, tie the flag to it. Place the complete flagpole with the flag banner on it into the ground spike. Be sure to look out for any power leans, trees, or other objects when you install the flag kit.

Care: Our advertising flag kits are durable and made for outdoor use, but we highly recommend taking them inside during high winds or severe weather to protect your items from being damaged. Your custom feather flags and poles will wear and tear quicker if you do not take them inside.

Storage: It is important to make sure you properly store your feather banners. We recommend putting them in a safe box or bag, in a room temperature setting. Storing flags in outdoor sheds, barns, garages, etc. can cause damage to your prints due to high heat.

Washing & Cleaning: For cleaning the flags, we recommend spot cleaning only. Our flags cannot be put into the dryer due to their nylon headers or sleeves. They must be air-dried, which can be done by putting your flag back onto the pole.

Designing an effective custom feather flag

When it comes to custom flags, there are various types to choose from, each with its own unique features and uses. Let’s explore some of the most popular types:

  1. Teardrop Flags: These waterdrop-shaped flags are characterized by their teardrop-shaped design that tapers towards the top. These flags are great for displaying logos, slogans, or other custom graphics. They are particularly effective in outdoor settings with moderate wind conditions.
  2. Rectangle Flags: Rectangle flags offer a more traditional flag shape and are suitable for displaying larger graphics, text, or promotional messages. These flags are often seen at trade shows or outside storefronts, attracting attention from afar.
  3. Custom Feather Flags: Also known as a banner or swooper flags, these have a feather-like shape. These feather banners provide a larger surface area for displaying your brand message and are ideal for outdoor events or areas with high wind conditions.
  4. Standard Flags: Standard flags are smaller rectangle flags. Typically a 3×5 size, but comes in 2×3, 4×5, and 5×8 as well. These flags are great for sports, and businesses and can be used indoors, as well.

Tips for choosing the right colors and graphics for your flag design

Designing an effective flag design is crucial for capturing the attention of your target audience and conveying your brand message. Here are some tips to help you create flags that stand out:

  1. Keep it Simple: A cluttered flag can be overwhelming and make it difficult for viewers to understand your message. Focus on a simple and clear design that highlights your brand’s key elements.
  2. Choose Bold Colors: Vibrant and contrasting colors can make your flag more eye-catching. Consider using your brand’s primary colors or colors that evoke the desired emotions or associations.
  3. Use High-Quality Graphics: Ensure that your graphics are crisp and clear. Avoid using low-resolution images that may appear blurry or pixelated when printed on the flag.
  4. Include Clear and Concise Text: If you plan to include text on your custom feather flags, make sure it is easy to read from a distance. Use large fonts and choose a font style that complements your brand’s identity.
  5. Consider the Flag’s Shape: The shape of your flag can influence the design and layout. Take into account the shape of the flag you’ve chosen and design your graphics accordingly.

Placement and positioning of custom feather flags for maximum visibility

When selecting colors and graphics for your feather banners, it’s important to consider your brand identity and target audience. Here are some tips to help you choose the right elements:

  1. Align with Brand Identity: Design your custom feather flags with colors and graphics that align with your brand’s visual identity. Consider your logo, brand guidelines, and overall aesthetic when selecting colors and graphics for your flag.
  2. Consider the Psychology of Color: Different colors evoke different emotions and associations. Research the psychology of color in advertising to ensure your flag’s colors align with the message you want to convey.
  3. Ensure Readability: Select colors that provide a good contrast between the background and any text or graphics. This will ensure that your flag is easily readable from a distance.
  4. Test Your Design: Before finalizing the artwork for your flags, consider printing a small-scale version to see how the colors and graphics appear in reality. This will help you make any necessary adjustments to your flag design before production.
  5. Seek Professional Design Assistance: If you’re not confident in your design skills, consider working with a professional graphic designer. They can help you create a visually appealing and effective design that aligns with your brand.

Maintenance and care of your flags

The placement and positioning of outdoor advertising flags play a crucial role in their effectiveness. Here are some tips to ensure maximum visibility:

  1. Consider the Surrounding Environment: Take into account the environment where your custom feather flags will be displayed. Look for areas with high foot traffic and visibility, such as busy intersections, entranceways, or near competitor locations.
  2. Choose the Right Height: Consider the visibility and wind conditions of the location to determine the appropriate height for your feather banners. A taller flag may be more noticeable in open areas, while a shorter flag may be better suited for crowded spaces.
  3. Utilize Multiple Lines of Flags: Using multiple signs strategically can increase visibility and create a more impactful display. Consider arranging multiple flags in a row or cluster to create a visually appealing arrangement.
  4. Position for Optimal Viewing Angles: Angle your flags towards the main flow of foot or vehicle traffic to maximize visibility. Experiment with different angles to find the most effective position.
  5. Regularly Check and Adjust: Monitor the positioning of your flags regularly to ensure they remain visible. Wind and weather conditions can cause flags to shift or become less visible over time. Make adjustments as needed to maintain their effectiveness.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ORDERING CUSTOM FLAGS

A swooper flag is simply another name for feather banners. Swooper typically refers to a flag that requires wind to stay open. Since our custom feather flags require no wind to stay open, we’ve discontinued the use of “swooper flags.” Also, we aren’t a big fan of the name either. It doesn’t properly describe the feather style. After all, the flags look like feathers, not “swoopers.”

For our custom flags we offer a variety of sizes! We have 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 15 foot feather flags.

Our flags are about 2.5 feet wide.

For custom flags you can get single or double sided flags.

  • Single-sided custom feather flags display printing on one side, mirroring the design as seen on-screen. Conversely, double-sided flags consist of two flags seamlessly sewn together with 100% blackout vinyl mesh in between for enhanced visibility from both sides.

No, they don’t! Your feather banners can have two different designs.

No, keep flags away from contact with sparks or flames. They can catch fire. They are highly resistant to heat but can catch fire.

Our most popular other signs would be our custom vinyl banners, standard custom flags, air dancers, and retractable banners. Give us a call if you need help with getting your advertising campaign planned.

We always advise pairing our custom feather banners with our inflatable dancing men. They work great together to get eyes on your business.

ABOUT HARDWARE

Our flag lengths are intentionally designed shorter than the hardware employed. For instance, a 12-foot flag is complemented by 15-foot poles. This ensures optimal divisibility and stability for your custom feather flags.

The main difference is the top pole piece in each one. The flexible poles’ top pole piece is a thin rod that
bends to the shape of the flag. The pre-curved poles’ top pole piece is already bent to the shape of the
flag and is made entirely of aluminum. Both pole sets do the exact same thing.

Absolutely! We provide premium poles suitable for windy conditions in both variants. Specifically engineered for 20-30 mph winds, these poles offer robust stability for your custom feather flags. However, please remain vigilant regarding weather conditions. Sudden gusts or storms can bring unforeseen changes. Our poles are designed to pivot with the wind direction, reducing stress. Nevertheless, excessive stress can compromise their durability and may lead to breakage.

The tie-down clip is a small but essential component that attaches to the bottom pole of feather banners. Its primary function is to secure the string, maintaining the stability of our flags. While unnecessary for pre-curved poles, it becomes imperative for flexible poles. This clip ensures that the top pole piece retains its intended shape, guaranteeing optimal performance for your custom feather flags.

Our most popular base, the ground spike, is designed to be inserted into dirt for stable flag placement. In cases where dirt isn’t available, our cross base offers versatility, suitable for any flat indoor or outdoor surface. To enhance stability, we strongly recommend adding the weight donut to the cross base.

The weight donut serves to anchor bases like the cross or flat base. It’s fillable with either water or sand, providing a weight of approximately 30 lbs for added stability for your custom feather flags.

Upgrading your kit to a travel package will ensure that all of your components will fit into a travel bag. Lighter poles and mounting hardware options are usually added to your kit to make it easier to travel with.

Our flags have specific poles made for each height. Therefore, the pole kits are not interchangeable.

ABOUT FLAGS

It takes 3 business days to produce 1-4 flags.

We use a lightweight, yet durable, 4 oz. polyester for our custom flags. Its weight is also sometimes referred to as 110gm. This material has been tested for many years and has proven to be the best for outdoor use. A slight breeze allows the flag to flutter around in the wind.

Yes, as with almost all printed products, long term exposure to the sun will fade the banner over time. This will require a prolonged period of direct sunlight, such as 8+ hours per day, every day. In most cases, our advertising flags are used for special events or periodically, so fading isn’t an issue.

Proper care and storage significantly extend the lifespan of a flag to 3+ years. Prolonged exposure to the sun or harsh elements accelerates its deterioration. If consistently used outdoors day and night, its lifespan may diminish drastically to 9 to 12 months. Additionally, subjecting the flag and pole to severe conditions further reduces their longevity.
