How to Optimize Your Feather Flag Position
An important thing to keep in mind when ordering feather flags is not only what you want to advertise but where you want to advertise! You want to make sure your flags are in the perfect place to be seen by traffic and to optimize your results. There are some things to consider before deciding on the placement for your feather flags, let’s talk about them!
Think About Positioning and Visibility
There are a few key things you’ll want to keep in mind whenever deciding on where to put your feather flags. You want to make sure they are going to be in places that are highly visible. If you’re located on a busy street, it’ll be easier for your flags to be seen than if you’re located off or away from a busy street.
Feather flags are lightweight and easy to transport! Some creative ways we’ve seen people use our feather flags are attaching them to the roof of their building. That’s bound to get some attention!
The most important things to keep in mind is where people will be coming from and what will be easiest for them to see. You don’t want to put your flag somewhere that’ll cause it to be blocked by other signage/cars/buildings/etc.
Single or Double-Sided?
The first thing you want to consider is if you need single or double-sided flags. All of our in-stock flags are going to be single-sided, while with our custom flags, you can do either single or double-sided.
With single-sided flags, you can see the design on the backside, it just appears reversed and a little bit lighter. While our double-sided flags are two flags sewn together with a mesh in the middle, your message will read clearly on the front and the back.
If your flag is going to be on a one-way street, a single-sided flag will suit you just fine! If your flag is going to be on a two-way street, or in a place where people from all sides will see it, a double-sided flag may benefit you more.
What Hardware Will You Need for your Feather Flag?
Once you’ve decided on single or double-sided flags, the next thing you need to consider is what kind of mounting hardware you’ll be needing. At FFN, we have a variety of mounting hardware to choose from! What mounting hardware you need will be determined by where you plan on putting your flag. If you’ve already decided if you need a single or double-sided flag, you should have an idea of where you plan on putting your custom flag.
With our custom feather flag kits, we offer two different options for the mounting hardware. The two most popular options we have are our ground spike and cross base. The ground spike can easily be pushed into grass and dirt. The cross base can sit on any flat surface and can be used indoors or outdoors.
The ground spike is our most popular mounting hardware as it can be easily pushed into grass or dirt. But, this does limit you to only specific outdoor locations. Maybe your business is located on a street with no grass or you’re indoors, that’s where the cross base comes in! Since that base just needs a flat surface, you can use it almost anywhere.
Location, Location, Location
Now, the most important part: LOCATION! You want to make sure you’re putting these flags in the optimal place for your business. We’ve discussed the difference between single and double-sided flags and have reviewed our more popular hardware choices, now it’s time to take those things into consideration and find the best place to put up your custom flags.
You always want to make sure your flags are visible in the direction that traffic will be going. When people drive or walk past your sign you want to make sure they’re able to easily read and understand it without it being blocked from their view. The message is no good if they can’t read it!
The feather flag positioning in the above image is a great example of optimizing positions. They are positioned close to the building and against the road. This way, on-coming traffic will be met with 3 easy to read flags. These flags are set up with our complete feather flag kits with the ground spike.
The feather flag positioning in this image is a little different. Since the building is not against the road, they opted to put the flags on top of the building, increasing the height and overall visibility.
To achieve something like this, you will need to use the cross base with the weight donut. The cross base itself weighs 10lbs and when the weight donut is filled with water or sand it can add up to an additional 30lbs.
