Customizing Your Feather Banner Flag 101: What Is A Vector File?

What is a vector file? Customizing Your Feather Banner Flag 101

Swooper flags, or feather flags, can draw a lot of attention because of their size. At Feather Flag Nation we offer custom feather flags at 5ft, 6ft, 8ft, 10ft, 12ft, 14ft, and 15ft. That’s a lot of space to advertise your brand logo and message!

Feather banner flags are a great advertising/marketing tool in this way, but they can be a challenge to design for without the right files to work with.

One important file format to use when designing a feather flag is the vector format. What is a vector file? Wikipedia defines vector graphics in this way: Vector graphics store the lines, shapes, and colors that make up an image as mathematical formulae.

In laymen’s terms, vector graphics are formatted in such a way that they are easily scalable without losing the quality of the image. They are easy to manipulate and edit.

Rasterized images, which are typically what you find on the web and photographic images, will degrade when scaling to a smaller or larger size. Vector images look sharp and clean when printed on feather banner flags. Vector graphics are typically .ai, .pdf, and .eps (though .eps is now an outdated format, it is still usable!).

If you want your logo to look clear and sharp on a feather flag, make sure to send a vector file!

We take great pride in the quality of our products. All custom products are made in-house from our Riverside, CA location.
